Ferries

We have three different passenger ferries sailing between Russell and Paihia:

Northland Ferries' 'Bay Belle' www.northlandferries.co.nz/bay-of-islands-ferry

The Happy Ferry 'Waimarie' www.dinnercruise.co.nz/the-happy-ferry

The Blue Ferry 'Kuia' www.therussellferry.com

 

Two Northland Ferries' car ferries run continuously between Opua and Okiato, between 6am and 10pm.

 

Timetables vary between summer (longer) and winter (shorter), and can be postponed or cancelled during severe weather.

Passenger Ferry Times

​The Bay Belle departs Paihia on the half hour, and departs Russell on the hour.

The Blue Ferry departs Paihia at 10 past the hour, and departs Russell at 20 to the hour.

The Happy Ferry runs from 9am to 5pm.​​
